What are your hours of operation?
The museum and gift shop are open to the public on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. except on major holidays.
Is the museum open at any other times?
For special events like the Labor Day and Holiday train shows, the museum will be open an additional day of the weekend.
Do I have to pre-register for a Civil War tour or a Fairfax Station Forum event?
Yes, you must pre-register for a tour. Please email us at: fxstn@fairfax-station.org or phone 703-425-9225. You may also consider adding your name to a list of those interested in future tours. We'll contact you when we have firm tour dates. You can also check the calendar website for information. The forum events do not require advance registration.

How do I become a member of the Friends of Fairfax Station, and what is included in my membership?
For information about membership, please see membership. Members receive mailings and advance notice of all special events.
How can I make a donation, and is my donation tax deductible?
Fairfax Station Railroad Museum accepts financial contributions as well as most donations of historic railroad or Civil War items. As a 501(c)(3) organization, donations and memberships are tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for more information. To make a donation, click here.
Where is the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum located?
The museum is located approximately 20 miles west of Washington, DC and just south of Fairfax, Virginia and about three miles south of Braddock Road and Route 123 (Ox Road). Get Directions
How do I host a party at the museum?
The museum offers the use of a community room with space for up to 70 guests for a reasonable fee. Get rental information or call for availability 703-273-3147.
Does the Museum have a gift shop?
The Museum has a large gift shop with a nice selection of items depicting local, railroad, and Civil War themes.
Does the Museum accept credit cards?
At this time, the Museum can only accept cash or checks.
Can I arrange for private tours during off hours?
Special tours for groups such as scout troops or school groups may be available depending on scheduling. Please contact the Museum at 703-425-9225 for information.
