Model Train Displays

We have many Model Train Displays throughout the year and we hope to increase the number of times in the near future.

HOLIDAY TRAIN SHOW - December 1 & 2

The museum’s biggest event of the year will be held on December 2 and 3, Sat. 10-5 and Sun. 12-4. The 16th Annual Train Show features model trains of all sizes to the delight of all train lovers, young and old.

N-scale models will be running in the caboose on the permanent layout donated by the Northern Virginia NTRAK club, the group who routinely runs their trains every 3rd Sunday of the month. Monty will be back with his creative Lego train layout, also in the newly painted caboose. Inside the museum will be featured great displays of H-O (Potomac Module H-O Crew), O (National Capital Trackers), Z ( Ell Geib), and S (Standard) trains (Clem Clement, Hope & Dan Danielson), all running to the joy of our attendees.

On the grounds of the museum you’ll find the children chasing the WASH-MD-VA Garden (G) gauge trains that encircle the museum.

The Model A Club will have their vintage cars on display. In addition you’ll also enjoy seeing our wonderful newly erected railroad crossing lights and gate, compliments of Norfolk Southern, Santa John Kandl, JL Tree Service and the Clifton Lions Club. The Loco Doctor will also look at your ‘sick trains’ and see if he can fix them. We are so very grateful to the above for their support of the museum all of these years.

Come and see the great show, see Santa, visit our super gift shop, and enjoy light refreshments.
